Serie Contre-Jour, 2024

This series explores a unique, contemporary vision of nature, where forest landscapes become mosaics of geometric shapes and vivid colors. Each painting captures a specific moment, either sunset or sunrise, playing on warm gradations and contrasting cool hues.

The trees, often conifers, are stylized with polygonal or fractal patterns, giving them an organic yet abstract appearance. These geometric structures overlap and intertwine, evoking the complexity and interconnectedness of natural elements. Contrasts between prolonged shadows and halos of light accentuate depth and lend an almost surreal dimension. The colors, often vibrant, interact harmoniously with the geometric compositions, infusing the works with visual dynamism and narrative richness.

“I explore the tension between chaos and structure, between nature and abstraction. My forests become visual systems where everything is interconnected.” Guimond
