About
Artistic approach
Guimond has forged a distinctive style at the intersection of stained glass, mosaic, urban cubism, Pop art, naïve art, comics, and graphic design. Her pictorial research is centered on the expressive potential of line, form, light and color, and unfolds as a free reinterpretation of architectural modernism, balancing structural rigor with ornamental fantasy. Her work navigates between landscape, portrait, and nude through a visual language rooted in stylized geometric shapes, clean-cut silhouettes, assertive contours, and a vibrant palette.
Inspired by Antoni Gaudí, Milton Avery, Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun, Fernando Botero, Gustav Klimt, Lawren Harris, David Hockney, and Nicolas Party, Guimond develops a visual language in which flowing lines, organic forms, subtle gradients, and fragmented polygons coexist in a vibrant tension. Her geometric motifs are far from pure formalism: they draw directly from natural structures -leaf branches, fish scales, mineral layers, and vegetal veins. Her chromatic palette amplifies this formal dynamic. Industrial greys meet bold pinks, enigmatic purples, and acid greens, giving rise to compositions that are at once accessible, intriguing, and at times unsettling.
Whether in oil or acrylic, pastel, mural work, or sculpture, Guimond’s pieces explore foundational themes: nature, conceived as a matrix of form and structure; collective identity, rooted in the landscape painting tradition of Québec and Canada; the feminine, as both formal and symbolic principle; and dream, as a space of visual construction and fragmented narrative.
Each element is placed with intention, within a rigorously composed framework where form and light serves visual clarity. Recurring motifs-iconic trees, symbolic characters and animals, solar circles- ensure visual cohesion and shape a personal mythology that is unmistakably her own.
This phantasmagorical universe, imbued with a dreamlike atmosphere, also draws from a wealth of references: playful nods to pop culture, tributes to contemporary artists or art history, and mischievous details woven deliberately into her creations. Her compositions thus become spaces of projection, where memory, imagination, and reflections on the relationship between human beings and their environment converge.
Jacinthe Biography
Jacinthe Guimond, known as Guimond, is a multidisciplinary artist from the Mauricie region, in Quebec, Canada. Holding a B.A. in Visual Arts (UQTR), an M.A. in Education (UQTR), a short program in Popular Literature (TELUQ), and a D.E.S.S. in Mental Health (UQAM), Guimond draws on her diverse academic background to enrich her artistic practice. This knowledge, reinvested with sensitivity, has led her to explore art therapy and other integrated approaches, as well as to experiment with a wide range of motifs, themes, and media, including mosaic, blown glass and stained glass. It was through the latter that she developed a particular interest in the welds connecting the glass pieces. This technique guided her toward a simplification of form: she breaks down figurative elements into small, geometric, and colorful shapes, which she assembles with precision to reveal concrete images, such as that of a tree.
For the past three years, Guimond has been enriching her two-dimensional practice through the exploration of sculpture, driven by a desire to evolve her art and visual language. Her sculptural approach, decidedly hybrid, is based on molding, accumulation, layering, and assembly. In this medium, she continues to explore the motifs, figures, and natural themes already present in her painting.
Driven by a strong curiosity and a constant desire to learn, Guimond has also developed entrepreneurial skills that led her to found her own children’s publishing house. There, she combines her passion for words and images, creating a new creative space where visual and narrative art come together.
For the past ten years, Guimond has been collected around the world, notably in the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia.
Quote: “I draw inspiration as much from Quebec’s forests as from ancient ornaments and modern compositions. My work emerges from a fragile balance between the calculation of form and surrender to color.”
Cédric Biography
Born in Val-d’Or, Cédric Langlois grew up between the Saguenay and Lanaudière regions, filling his imagination with forests, lakes, and mountains. Coming from an entrepreneurial and construction background, as a surveyor and project manager, he has always been drawn to the idea of creating, building, and exploring new perspectives.
In 2021, his encounter with Jacinthe marked a decisive turning point in his career. Inspired by this connection, he discovered a true passion for art. After learning the basics of drawing, he quickly revealed a talent for realistic portraiture. These skills and aptitudes naturally led him to experiment with sculpture, and later with painting.
In 2024, he chose to devote himself entirely to art, channeling his energy and talent into creativity and technical mastery, and officially joining the Guimond signature.
Quote : “Creating means letting my ideas come to life and be transformed into something tangible, free and authentic, capable of touching and inspiring those who discover them.”
